Calomel: as ointment. Carron Oil: as a dre ing. Castor Oil: to keep motions soft. Chloral Hydrate: in dilute solution (2 per cent.) as a dre ing. Chloroform: diluted with half its bulk of alcohol, will aid healing. Cocaine: in ointment. Collodion: locally, to protect. Dilatation, forcible: relieves spasm. Hydrastis: local application. Ice: to relieve pain after operation. Ichthalbin. Ichthyol. Iodoform: locally, to heal and relieve pain. Iodoformogen: very beneficial. Opium and Gall Ointment: relieves pain. Pota ium Bromide: with five parts of glycerin, locally. Rhatany: injected after the bowels have been opened by enema. Silver Nitrate. Sozoiodole-Pota ium. Sulphur: to keep motions soft. Tannin: useful as a local application.
