(ben-zo-ni' '-tril), Cyan benzene; a compound isomeric witli phenyl car by lam in. It is obtained from benzene sulphonic acid by distillation with pota ium cyanid. It is an oil with an odor resembling that of oil of bitter almonds, and boils at 1910; its specific gravity is 1.023 at o°.
