Polit. Econ.: (See extract.) "A fund theoretically a umed to exist, and out of which wages are paid. Practically, also, such a fund is known to exist, from the fact that wages are actually paid out of it. It is made up of two principal items. (1) A portion of the produce of past labor; and (2) credit based on the anticipation of the profits of future labor.
