Jacoby, Carl Johannes Hermann

D.D. (hon., Halle, 1873), German Protestant theologian; b. in Berlin, Dec. 30, 1836; studied at Berlin 1854- 57, and in the Kbnigl. Prediger-Seminar at Wittenberg 1858-59; was gymnasial teacher at Lands berg-a.-W. 1859-63, and at Stendal 1863-64; diakonus'm Schlo Held run gen, 1866-68; became ordinary profe or of practical theology at Kdnigsberg, 1868; and since 1871 has also been university preacher. He holds to the "PerwuMefode Theologie, wie sie in der evangel. Vereinigung vertreten ist."
