[Also written doub, and more accurately dub, repr. Hind. dub, W. H. Ru ell, Diary in India, I. 237. Doodia (dö'di-a), n. [NL.] A small genus of ferns, natives of the southern hemisphere, and common in cultivation. The fronds are from 6 to 18 inches long, pinnate or pinnatifid. The oblong or slightly curved sori are arranged in one or more rows between the midrib and margins of the pinnæ, and the veins form one or two rows of arches. doodle1 (dö'dl), v. t.; pret. and pp. doodled, ppr. doodling.
