meconium

[Mod. Lat., from Gr. mēkōnion =(1) the juice of a poppy, opium; (2) the discharge from the bowels of new-born children; mekon the poppy.] Chem.: A substance occurring in the intestinal canal of the foetus. It appears to be a mixture of cholesterin, bile resin, casein, picromel, biliverdin, mucus, and perhaps albumin.
