(tim) [L. thy’mus; Gr. θύμος]. A plant of the genus Thy’mus. The Thy'mus vulga’ris, or garden thyme, contains a volatile oil, which is aromatic and carminative. It also contains thymol, thymene, and cumene. Dose of oil, 1-5 min. (0.066- 0.333 ¢.c.); of fluidextract, 15-60 min. (1-4 c.c.). t.-camphor.
