pl. [Gr. ekkentros out of the center, and stomata, pl. of stoma = mouth.] Zool. The name given by De Blainville to a family of Echinida, with a more or le elongate, cordate body. [Properly either the pa. par, or the imperative of the verb, the construction in the former case being similar to the Latin ablative absolute; thus, all except one=all, one being excepted.
