(an-tc’ ’-re-or) [anterior, forward]. Situated before or in front of; pertaining to the part of organ situated toward the ventral aspect of the body. A. Poliomyelitis, inflam ation of the anterior horns of the spin cord, giving rise to a characteristic paralysis, common in children. A. Rotation, the forward turning of the presenting part in labor. 65
