[Pref. par-, and English columbite.] Min.: An iron-black, impure variety of Menac canite (q. v.). păr-a-con-Ic, a. [Pref. para-, and Eng. aconic.] Derived from or containing aconic acid. para conic-acid, s. Chem.: C5H8O5. The ethereal anhydride of it a malic acid, obtained, together with that body, by itachlor-pyro tartaric acid with water. It is crystalline, very soluble in water, and melts at 70. Its calcic salt is soluble in alcohol.
