(mar-gar'ik-.) [FromGr. margaritës, ap earl.] (Chem.) An artificial fatty acid, prepared by the action of potash on cyanide of cetyl. It forms 37 3X white crystals, soluble in ether, and uniting with bases to form salts. Form. C34H3404. [s. 577]
