(bro kr.) (From A.S. bru can.] (Com. and Law.) An agent who negotiates between seller sand buyers, and is paid by a certain rate of commi ion, called brokerage. He is not, like a factor, entrusted with the po e ion of the goods, and he is not authorized to buy or sell in his own name. [s. 118]
