Macluritidæ (makloritide)

pl. [NL., neath the nucleus, is very thick and rugose. By Woodward the constituent genus was referred to the heteropod family Atlantide; by Tryon, as type of a family, to the scut i branchiate gastropods, between the Bellerophontidæ and Haliotidæ; by others to the family Solariidæ, etc. Thirteen species have been recognized in the Paleozoic formations, from the Lower Silurian to the Carboniferous.
