COOH.CH..CHOH.COOH. Mpt. 100° C. Dibasic acid, very widely distributed in the vegetable world, especially in unripe apples, quinces, and other fruits; colorle solid, exceedingly soluble in water. It can be prepared by the reduction of tartaric acid. Malice. Settled feeling of ill-will toward a person, prompting to an infliction of pain or harm.-In Law, either absence of legal excuse, or a corrupt motive.
