Moeris

(Lake,) (me'ris), or BIRKET-EL-KEROON, a large lake of Central Egypt, p. Faïoum, in N. Lat. 29° 30', and bet. E. Lon. 32° 30′-33°. It connects by two channels with the Nile and the Canal Joseph, and covers an area of surface 30 miles in length by 6 in breadth. [s. 609]
