Wikner, Carl Pontus

Ph.D. (Upsala, 1883), Luther an; b. in the parish of Ryr, province of Dal, Sweden, May 19, 1837; educated at the University of Upsala; became Lektor in theology and Hebrew at the Elementary School of Upsala, 1873; vice-profe or of theoretical philosophy at the Uuiversity of Upsala, 1869; profe or of philosophy at the University of Christiania, Norway, 1884. He has received the prize of King Charles Johan XIV., "for literary merits." Nominally Luther an, he is an independent religious philosopher of strong caliber.
