ALDOBRANDINI, SILVESTRO

(1499-1558), Ttal. jurist belonging to famous Florentine family. His s. Ippolito reigned as Pope Clement VIII. (1592-1605). Clement’s nephew Pietro (1572-1621) became cardinal and owned the villa whither was talcen the antique fresco, discovered in Rome, 1606, and called the Aldobrandinish Wedding, ALDRICH, JOHN MERTON » (1866), entomologist; 6. Olmstead co., Minn. After, studying entomology and other scientific fields at the University of Minnesota, Michigan Agricultural College and the University of Kansas, he became a profe or of zoology and biology; then (1918) custodian of diptera and (1919) a ociate curator of insects of the U. S. National Museum. In the course of his scientific work he compiled a catalogue of North American Diptera and wrote Sarcophaga and Allies, 1916. He visited Alaska in 1921, investigating and collecting insect specimens of that region. ‘
