Bagpipe

a musical wind instrument of very great antiquity, having been used among the ancient Greeks for many ages, and is the favorite musical instrument of the Scottish Highlanders. ‘ Bag ration, Peter Ivanovich, Prince, a Ru ian general, descended from the royal family of the Bagratide of Georgia and Armenia, born in 1765. In the campaign of 1812, he commanded the Second Ru ian Army of the West. He was mortally wounded in the battle of Borodino, and died Oct. 7, 1812.
