Hunt, Richard

MORRIS, architect, born in Brattle- boro, Vt., Oct. 28, 1828; studied at the Ecole des Beaux- Arts in Paris, and under H. M. Lefuel. He was em- ployed upon the Pavillon de la Bibliotheque, Paris, and other structures. In 1855 he returned to the U. S. and was actively engaged in his profe ion, as architect of the Lenox Library, the Divinity College building at Yale, the Tribune building, New York, the Naval Ob- servatory at Washington, the Administration building at the Columbian Exposition of 1893, and numerous other public and private buildings. He was a chevalier of the Legion of Honor, and a corresponding member of the French Academy of Fine Arts. Died July 31, 1895.
