Krupp Gun

The breech mechanism is the distinguishing feature of this. A wedge, with a flat surface in front and a cylindrical surface in rear, slides horizontally in a transverse slot in the jacket of the gun and closes the breech. The gas check is a Broad well ring of steel. fitting into the rear end of the bore, and capable of expanding under the pre ure of the powder gas.
