[E. dial., E. girth, q. v.] A hoop or band. garthman (gärth'man), n.; pl. garthmen (-men). The proprietor of an open weir for taking fish. No fisher, or garth - man, nor any other, of what estate or condition that he be, shall from henceforth put in the waters of Thamise. The name of a Brazilian cuneate-tailed parrakeet of the genus Conurus , C. lute us , about 144 inches long, and mostly yellow in color.
