{lhi’-o-fen) [Oelov, sulphur], C4- H4S. A hydrocarbon of the aromatic series; a colorle , oily liquid, miscible with water. T. sodium sulphonate, C4H3S.NaS03, is a white powder; it is used in prurigo. The iodid, C4H2I2S, has been used as a substitute for iodoform. 624
