[Lat. turris =a tower, and Gr. lithos a stone.] 4230 Palæont .: A genus of Ammon i tide, with thirty seven species, ranging from the Gault to the Chalk of Europe. Shell sinistral, spiral, whorls in contact; aperture often irregular. tür-rit-ěd, a. [Eng. turret; ed.] The same as TURRICULATE (q. v.).
