This term is variously employed; as a ve el is said to have G Headway ” when making progre through the water; a ve el is considered to be getting „Under way”, when on the point of leaving one Port for another;..Sternway” is said of a ve el, when going backward; In way of ” means against, abreast of; see In wake of”.
