College, Manchester, was founded 1846, and re-opened in new buildings in 1873, and made part of the Victoria University in 1880. Several additions have since been made, and women have been admitted. There are two halls of residence, the Hulme and the Dalton, only for men, the former being conducted on Church lines. There are about 1150 students, of whom about 100 are women.
