One not hung to the stern-post, the usual mode with ordinary rudders; but which is sustained by, and turns on the heel of the keel. It is constructed in such manner, that about a/iTia of the frame and plating extend abaft, and Vs"* of it is on the fore side of the axis of the main-piece; seldom met with in merchant ve els.
