Notre Dame

Name given to churches in France which are dedicated to the Virgin, particularly the Cathedral of Paris. Nott, ELIPHALET, D.D., LL.D., 1773-1866. Pres. Union Coll., injections, as alum in water or powdered galls; as sort the nostrils should be plugged with lint or ferric oxide. Post-nasal catarrh is very common in U. S., and is due to cold draughts of air or irritating dust. It is treated with local sprays of alkaline solutions, followed by astringent powders or ointments of catechu, iron sulphate, or boracic acid. See CATARRH.
