BENTHAMIA

(Lat.), n. f._ Be?n-tha?m‘i?as. Named for Bentham, an English botanist. Fr., benthamie. A pen us of cornaceous plants with opposite leaves, a 4-toothed ca! had four fleshy, cup-shaped petals, four stamens, one style, and a fruit consisting of a compound berry made up of an aggregation of small drupes resembling that of Arbutus.
