A common name for a lamp or heating apparatus used in laboratories for chemic and pharmaceutic purposes. B., Argand, uses gas or oil, and contains an inner tube for supplying the flame with air. B., Bunsen, a form in which the gas is mixed with a sufficient quantity of air to produce complete oxidation before ignition.
