A duplicature of the peritoneum which descends from the lower border of the stomach in front of the intestines to the level of the pelvis, where it turns and ascends to the colon, which, after separating, it includes between its two layers. It represents the posterior primitive mesentery of the stomach, hep a to gastric o., le er o. Syn.: epiloon minus. A double layer of the peritoneum which extends between the transverse fi ure of the liver and the le er curvature of the stomach. It represents the posterior portion of the anterior primitive mesentery of the stomach, o. colicum.
