Eumenes

(ū-me'ncez,) B. in the Thracian Cher sones us, 360 B. c., became the friend and favorite general of Alexander the Great, whom he accompanied in most of his great expeditions. Upon the division of the empire, after Alexander's death among his officers, E. received, for his share, Pontus, Paphlagonia, and Cappadocia.
