(oi-ko-ma’ne-ah). Ecomania. Self- See Infection with larve of 658 OIL Oldiomycetes (0-id’’e-o-mi-se’tes). A group of fungi characterized by having mycelial threads in their cultures. The group includes oidium and similar genera. oldiomycetic (0-id’e-o-mi-set’ik). or caused by oidiomycetes. oldiomycosis (0-id’’e-o-mi-ko’sis) [oidium + Gr. μύκης fungus]. A diseased condition due to the presence of an oidium. oldiomycotic (0-id’’e-o-mi-kot‘ik). oldiomycosis. Oldium (0-id’e-um) [dim. of @év egg]. A genus of fungi. O. al’bicans, the fungus that causes thrush: more properly called Saccharom’yces al'- bicans. O. coccidioi’des, a fungus which forms spheric bodies resembling tubercles in the ti ues. O. dermati'tid is. Same as Blastomyces derm at it i dis. O. lac’tis, a non-pathogenic species which forms the white mold in bread, sour milk, etc. O. porrig’in is. Same as A chorion schoenleinii. O. tropic a‘le, a species producing broncho-oldiosis.
