tolldish (toldish)

A dish or bowl for measuring the toll in mills. See tolll (c). Also formerly called toll - hop. The millers tolle - dish also must be according to the standard. Now millers are to take for the tolle but the twentieth part, or 24 part, according to the strength of their water, and custome of the realm. Dalton, Countrey Justice (1620). ( Nares .)
