safe conduct, safeconduite

That which gives or provides a safe pa age; as (1) A convoy or guard to protect a person in or pa ing through an enemy's or a foreign country. (2) A written pa or warrant, given by the sov ereign of a country, enabling the holder to pa safely through the country.
