[SELENODONT A.] Belonging to, or characteristic of the Selenodont a; having molars with crescentic ridges. [Pref. selen- (2), and Gr. odous (gen it. odontos ) = a tooth.] Zool. & Palæont .: A group of Artiodactyle Mammals, with three sections, Tylopod a, Tragulina, and Pecora, or Ruminant i a (q. v.). The molars have a crescentic ridged form. The earliest known member of the group is Anoplotherium (q. v.). sẽ-lēn-o-grăph, s.
