of Birds has been estimated at 150 miles an hour for a hawk, 120 for a swift, 100 for a crow, 90 for an eider duck, 80 for a swallow, 60 for a rook, 40 for a pigeon. The pigeon is not nearly so fast as is generally supposed, but is very strong on the wing and has immense powers of endurance.
