In placer and hydraulic mining, sand or gravel containing, or supposed to contain, gold enough to pay for washing. Also wash - stuff, wash - stuff, wash - gravel. washdish (wosh'dish), n. [Stock-exchange slang.] Washed or fictitious sales are positively forbidden, and will render the parties concerned liable to suspension or expulsion from the Produce Exchange.
