[After Taberg, Sweden, where found; suff.-ite. ( Min.)] Min .: A variety of the chlorite group of minerals, which has been referred by different mineralogists both to penninite and clinochlore (Dana's ripidolite). Color, bluish green. From optical observations Des Cloizeaux states that it sometimes consists of uniaxial and biaxial laminse combined, the axial divergence varying as much as from 1° to 33°, thus indicating a mixture of the members of this group. tăbērn, s.
