(or ‘pygmy’), name given to small-statured adult human beings, still found in different parts of the world, notably in Central Africa. Amongst these may be named the African ‘Bushmen,’ and the Bambute tribes ef Uganda, averaging about 4 ft. 7 in. in height. Famous dwarfs of history have been Tom Thumb,’d. 1883.
