Menerra, Etruscan Menerfa; prob., with formative -va, lenic culture, with the Greek Athene (or Athena), or Pallas, the godde of wisdom, of war, and of the liberal arts. Like Athene, Minerva was represented in art with a grave and majestic countenance, armed with helmet, shield, and spear, and wearing long full drapery, and on her breast the ægis.
