Kinetic Energy

—The energy po e ed by a moving body in virtue of its motion, as distinguished from potential energy, or that po e ed by a stationary body tending to motion. It represents the work nece ary to bring the body from its actual velocity to a state of rest. The measure of actual energy is the product of the weight of the body, multiplied by the height from which it must fall to acquire its actual velocity.
