Same as ascogonium. ascogonium (as-kō-gō'ni-um), n.; pl. ascogonia (-a). [NL., Ascomycetes Ascomycetes (as (as kō-mi-se'tēz), kō-mi-sē n. 1 pl. [NL., the subterranean truffles, the morels, helvellas, etc., which represent the several orders Saccharomycetes, Per is por i acece, Pyre no mycetes, Tube raceæ, and Discomycetes. Most of the lichens are now also generally considered as belonging to this family. See cut under ascus.
