KENDRICK, JOHN BENJAMIN

Cherokee County, Texas. He received a public-school education and in 1885 became a cattleman in Northern Wyoming and Montana, subsequently acquiring extensive agricultural interests and owning one of the largest range ranches in the West. From 1910 to 1914 he was 2 member of the Wyoming Senate and was elected Democratic governor of the State for the 1915-19 term. In 1917 he resigned that office following his election to the U. S. Senate for the 1917-23 term, and in 1922 he was re-elected for tie succeeding term. EKENESAW MOUNTAIN, an elevation in Georgia, 25 miles north of Atlanta.
