Cf. gas.] A subtle kind of matter supposed by Van Helmont, a Dutch mystic philosopher, to be radiated from the stars and to produce effects opposite to those of heat. blasé (bla-zā'), a. [F., pp. of blaser, cloy, satiate, blunt, of uncertain origin.] Exhausted by enjoyment, especially by sensuous pleasures; having the healthy energies exhausted; weary and disgusted with life.
