emmenological (emenolojikal)

[ goose. Same as ember emotion I. a. Softening; making soft or supple; serving to relax the solids of anything. The regular supply of a mucilage, more emollient and slippery than oil itself, which is constantly softening and lubricating the parts that rub upon each other. Paley, Nat. Theol., viii. II. n. A therapeutic agent or proce which softens and relaxes living ti ues, as a poultice or ma age. The word was formerly applied to the so-called demulcents. The fifth means is to further the very act of a imilation and nourishment: which is done by some outward emol lients, that make the parts more apt to a imilate. Bacon , Nat. Hist., § 59.
