[Lat.=an from pro before, publicly, and loquor =to speak.1 *1. One who speaks for another; an advocate. 2. The chairman or speaker of one of the houses of Convocation. The prolocutor of the lower house is a member chosen by the house, and presented to the bishops of the higher house as the person through whom all resolutions pa ed by the lower house will be communicated to the upper house, and who is to act as chairman and moderator of their proceedings.
