Menstruation

A periodic discharge of a sanguineous fluid from the uterus and Fallopian tubes, occurring during the period of a woman's sexual activity, from puberty to the menopause. The flow is alkaline and composed of blood, shreds of mucous membrane, and vaginal and uterine secretion; it is darker than ordinary blood, and should not clot; its odor is characteristic and disagreeable; the usual nrity is from four to six ounces.
