Argus

(är'gūs.) (Myt.) Ason of A rest or, who had eyes all over his body, or, according to Ovid, one hundred eyes. He was killed by Mercury, when appointed by Juno to guard Io, and the tradition adds that his eyes were transferred to the tail of a peacock. [s. 46]
