ferrilt (feril)

An obsolete form of ferrule2. ferrilite (fer'i-lit), n. [L. ferrum, iron, + Gr. λίθος, stone.] Ragstone. ferrite (fer'it), n. [L. ferrum, iron, + -ite2.] A term proposed by Vogelsang to include indeterminable mineral substances of a reddish color, frequently observed in certain igneous rocks when they are examined in thin sections under the microscope.
