Harrison, Benjamin

Twenty-third President of the United States. Was born at North Bend, Ohio; graduated from Miami University in 1852; began the practice of law in Indianapolis. Served in the Union army during the Civil War; entered United States Senate in 1881; served one term as President of the United States, 1889-1893 defeated for second term. He was the grandson of William Henry Harrison, ninth President of the United States. Born, 1833; died, 1901.
